Treatment Aftercare at The Private Practice

Following your treatment, it's important to follow the advice below. In general, you should keep hydrated throughout the day, be extra vigilant about sun protection and avoid disturbing wounds as they heal, otherwise run the risk of poor results, infection and scarring. Below you’ll find some aftercare information for our most popular treatments.

ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS (BOTULINUM A TOXIN) AFTERCARE

To prevent the spread of toxin to neighbouring muscles groups and to keep the area sterile we recommend the following after having toxin treatment with us:

DERMAL FILLERS

To prevent filler migration and to keep the area sterile we recommend the following after having dermal filler at The Private Practice:

FAT DISSOLVING AFTERCARE

Fat dissolving injections are acidic which means they are irritating to skin and body tissue. So, it is normal to expect redness, swelling, achey discomfort and occasionally bruising immediately after this treatment. These are temporary and will resolve in a few days (swelling can last for longer but the worst of it should resolve quickly). To prevent further irritation to the area and to keep it sterile we recommend:

PROFHILO AFTERCARE

Profhilo is well tolerated and often you can have this treatment and continue with your day, with no downtime. Occasionally mild tenderness and bruising can occur but this will settle quickly. Profhilo is given in small ‘deposits’ which might be seen initially as small lumps under the skin but they usually settle within hours. To prevent skin irritation after having Profhilo we recommend:

COMPLICATIONS

At The Private Practice we pride ourselves on being medically trained. Our team consists of medical professionals only, including a doctor and independent prescribing pharmacist.

Our team members have to undergo rigorous training that is checked and updated continuously by our governing bodies, the GMC and GPHC. This means that the standard of our work remains high at all times. With more than ten years of experience working in hospitals you can rest assured that all treatments we provide are performed safely using only the most trusted methods.

Our aesthetic training with the award winning global company Derma Medical, who only train medical professionals using the safest techniques, has successfully set us up to provide high quality aesthetic treatments. To make sure we are always using the most up to date and safest techniques we continue to attend educational and training events regularly.

We cannot stress enough the importance of thoroughly researching your practitioner before considering an aesthetic treatment. Aesthetic procedures all carry their own risks, so it is imperative that the person performing the procedure has sufficient training in dealing with potential complications should they arise, including being able to prescribe and administer emergency drugs. It is due to our extensive medical training that means we can recognise and treat the rare but very real complications of the treatments we provide.

If you would like to know more about the training our team members have undergone please contact us.

Our primary concern is making sure you feel safe in our hands and to know that you can trust us. We are available on call to all our clients for any questions or concerns they may have.
